Yes "Fragile" (1971)
The band decided to get into fancy new synthesisers... the band except for the
guy who'd actually be required to play them, the keyboard player who was
hooked on hammonds and ended up quitting (or was fired, I've seen both
versions of the story mentioned). A keyboard player from the band the Strawbs came on board, bringing
with him some impressive chops. With him installed, the music soared to new levels of
self-indulgent musicianship.
I really like it. Nothing like a bit of musical show offery, and it annoys
me when bands who are really musically able, completely abandon that so
they can "play for the song" ...you can play for the song and still
throw a tasty guitar solo or a complex drum fill!
This album has some great moments, and their bass sound is brilliant!
